Wauwatosa-based AG Architecture has named Eric Harrmann as its new chief design officer who will co-lead the firm with chief operating officer Tracey Schnick, as former chief executive officer Gene Guszkowski transitions into more of a mentorship role. AG has for years has been led by two executive officers. It has been helmed by Guszkowski as CEO and Schnick as COO since 2018. Guszkowski has stepped back from day-to-day duties, and now holds the title as founding principal of AG. "This is an exciting new chapter in the history of AG Architecture. AG, and the preceding generations of the firm, have afforded me great personal and professional fulfillment over the last 53 years," Guszkowski said in a statement. "As Eric and Tracey take on the day-to-day details of running the firm, I look forward to a more limited work week focused on mentorship, thought leadership and select project involvement. The next generation of AG is in great hands with these long-term team members and respected leaders." Schnick joined AG in 1989 in its engineering department. Harrmann joined as an intern in 2005. AG was previously led by Guszkowski and Stephen Alexander, and before that by Guszkowski and Chuck Aldrian. The architectural and engineering firm works on projects throughout the U.S. and has a portfolio of local senior living, multi-family and mixed-use projects. Previous generations of the firm date back to the 1960s. It was reorganized under Aldrian and Guszkowski in 1992 and rebranded as AG in 2002. John Cronin, senior design architect, will continue his involvement with senior-living projects and mentor emerging professionals. Cindy Lofy, director of finance and administration, will direct finance and administrative functions. Tony Luciano will continue directing in-house engineering services and serve as liaison to outside consultants and primary clients. Mike Miller, project management representative, will communicate current trends and challenges in project management.
