AFP Awards will celebrate Philanthropy Day

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter today announced the recipients of its 2012 National Philanthropy Day Awards.

The awards to be presented include:
* Evan P. Helfaer Donor Award – The Walter L. & Grace M. Merten Charitable Trust (Recognizes distinguished service in sharing resources with charitable organizations.)
Leave A Legacy Award – Emile H. Mathis III (Recognizes a demonstrated commitment through a documented donation of a planned gift.)
* Todd Wehr Volunteer Award – Reuben Harpole Jr. and Mildred Harpole (Recognizes sustained volunteer dedication in raising philanthropic funds.)
* Scott M. Cutlip Professional Fundraiser Award – Mary Albrecht (Recognizes professional distinction as a fundraising executive.)
Wisconsin Organizational Philanthropy Award – Kapco Inc. (Recognizes an outstanding record of philanthropic leadership.)
* Philanthropic Youth of Today Award – Becky Hall (Recognizes youth who have demonstrated philanthropic leadership.)

Recipients will receive their awards at the annual National Philanthropy Day luncheon on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Pfister Hotel. The 2012 luncheon will be the 34th Annual hosted by the local AFP Chapter. The luncheon celebrates philanthropy in southeastern Wisconsin, the donors, volunteers, professional staff and non-profit organizations who better our society and impact so many. AFP Chapters throughout the nation set aside a day – National Philanthropy Day – to celebrate philanthropy in their communities. The Southeastern Wisconsin event is one of the largest in the nation.
BizTimes is the media partner for the AFP Awards and will celebrate philanthropy in the region with its annual Giving Guide, which will be included in the Nov. 12 edition of the magazine.
