Abele and Stone to appear at candidate forums

    The two candidates for Milwaukee County Executive, philanthropist Chris Abele and state Rep. Jeff Stone, R-Greendale, will participate in two candidate forums later this month.
    Stone and Abele will participate in the candidate forum sponsored by the Garden District Neighborhood Association on Monday, March 28, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 5890 S. Howell Ave., Milwaukee.
    The candidates for Milwaukee County Supervisor District 14, Jason Haas and Steve Kraeger, and the candidates for Milwaukee School Board District 8, Meagan Holman and Candy Jo Lesniewsky, will also participate in the Garden District candidate forum.
    The Garden District candidate forum will be moderated by political analyst Wayne Youngquist.
    Abele and Stone will also participate in candidate forums on Tuesday, March 29, at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
    Abele is scheduled to speak at 7:30 a.m. in the UWM Union, Wisconsin Room, 2200 E. Kenwood Blvd.
    Stone is scheduled to speak at the Union’s Wisconsin Room at 8:45 a.m. the same day. The events are open to the general public. Those attending may submit written questions in advance of the forum at the meeting room.
    The events are co-sponsored by UWM, WUWM and WisPolitics.com. A WUWM representative will moderate both forums. The UWM College Democrats, College Republicans, Student Association, UWM’s Academic Staff Legislative Subcommittee and the UWM Panther Advocates also are co-sponsoring the forums.
    WUWM, Milwaukee Public Radio, will record the forums. The Abele forum will air during Lake Effect at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 29. The Stone forum will air during Lake Effect at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 30. Both will also air during Lake Effect Weekend, 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3.
