A to Z Printing expands in new building
A to Z Printing has launched operations in its new, 75,000-square-foot building in Pewaukee, a facility with twice the space of its former location on River Parkway in Wauwatosa.
A to Z’s original building was one of several that was subject to extensive flooding of the Menomonee River in the late 1990s. The building, and eight others, were acquired by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District for floodplain control.
The new facility was an $8 million investment for the company, which posted $25 million in sales last year, according to CEO Fuzzy Marek.
Marek has been running the business with his sister, Tami Schilling, since their father, Frank Marek, became ill more than two years ago. Frank Marek helped design the new building, but died of cancer in June.
A to Z’s new building, at W228 N821 Westmound Drive, features new equipment that was put in place while the old building and equipment were still in operation. "The transition was seamless," Schilling said.
"I give my father credit for not only accepting that we had to move, but embracing the benefits and envisioning the possibilities the new building would bring," Fuzzy Marek said.
