2015 WAWH Women’s Health Leader awardees announced

The Wisconsin Alliance for Women’s Health announced that women from two Milwaukee-based organizations are recipients of the 2015 WAWH Women’s Health Leader Awards.

The Woman of Courage Award will be presented to Teri Huyck, chief executive officer of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin Inc. Her nomination included the following testimony: “Despite the challenging political times we are in and the relentless attack on women and reproductive health, Teri remains unflustered. She is willing to do what needs to be done to keep PPWI’s services available and accessible.”

The Woman of Commitment Award will be presented to Dawn Anderson, executive director of the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Coalition. Her nomination included the following testimony: “She works hard so the future generations won’t have to go through this. Her positive attitude and energy is contagious and she truly is the backbone of our organization.”

Huyck and Anderson will be recognized at the Wisconsin Alliance for Women’s Health 6th annual Wisconsin Women’s Health Policy Summit on Tuesday in Madison. Event information can be found at www.wiawh.org/wwhps.
