After years of trying, the city of Madison's effort to develop a $7 million to $9 million, world-class agricultural and biology research center may be over.
The city has informed the federal government that it couldn’t identify enough tenants to cover a construction cost shortfall for the 31,000-square-foot Midwest BioLink and Commercialization Center and is beginning a process to refuse a $4.5 million federal grant announced in 2010 for the project.
