MADISON – TDS agrees to pay $350,000 in deal with FCC

  
TDS Telecommunications Corp. has agreed to pay $350,000 to the U.S. Treasury as part of a consent decree with the Federal Communications Commission.


TDS said it discovered in February 2011 that the welcome packets issued to 41,650 new residential customers since January 2008 did not include a provision letting customers opt out of receiving promotional materials for the company’s other services – a violation of FCC rules.
