Construction has begun on the $14 million Park Terrace condominium project on Milwaukee's near north side. The project in the 2000 block of North Commerce Street will feature 37 new residences, including a row of 21 new condominiums that will be called the Park Terrace Row Houses. The development also will include 16 single-family condos to be known as the Park Terrace Single Family Bluff Homes at 801-937 E. Reservoir St., overlooking the Milwaukee River and downtown. Prices for the new units will range from $219,000 to $400,000. The land had been owned by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, which sold the parcel to Vetter Denk Architecture. The project will be one of the final developments created for the city's Beerline B development area on a bluff just north of downtown. Only 1.3 acres remain to be developed in the Beerline B. "The land has incredible views of the city and access to the Milwaukee River below. Vetter Denk saw that," noted Rocky Marcoux, the city's next Department of City Development commissioner. "Single Family Bluff Homes buyers will have the opportunity - pre-construction - to work directly with the architects to custom-design their homes," said Kelly Denk, principal of Vetter Denk. Altius Building Co. is the general contractor for the project.
